If anyone had told me as a boy that my childhood friend would one day become my queen, I would probably have laughed it off. Yet today, I tell this story with a heart full of gratitude and a smile that words can barely capture. I've known Tolulope for as long as I can remember. She wasn't just a childhood friend; she was that friend, the one whose presence quietly became part of the rhythm of my life. Long before I ever thought about marriage, long before I began to imagine the woman I would spend forever with, Tolulope was already there, steady, dependable, kind, and quietly remarkable. As we grew into our teenage years, our paths became even more intertwined through church. I had the privilege of serving as the president of our fellowship, while she faithfully served as the prayer coordinator. Anyone who has been in leadership understands how special that partnership is, the leader and the intercessor, carrying the burdens of God's people together. What made it even more memorable was that we served not just one tenure, but two. Those years became some of the most defining seasons of our lives. Together, we witnessed God's faithfulness, shared responsibilities, celebrated victories, and learned invaluable lessons about service and sacrifice. Beyond the meetings and ministry, our conversations grew deeper. We laughed often, encouraged one another through life's challenges, prayed together and unknowingly laid the foundation for something far greater than either of us could have imagined. What began as childhood friendship slowly blossomed into a relationship built on faith, trust, genuine friendship and God's perfect timing. Looking back now, I can clearly see that God was writing our story long before either of us recognized it. I also realize that I wasn't just gaining a wife. I was receiving one of God's greatest gifts to my life. Every season, every conversation, every shared responsibility was preparing us for this beautiful journey. Today, I don't just get to marry my best friend, I get to spend the rest of my life with the woman who has been part of my story from the very beginning. And for that, I will forever be grateful. My beautiful Queen and my heart’s love is a woman of uncommon grace. She carries strength with gentleness, wisdom with humility and conviction with kindness. She has a heart that loves God deeply and loves people sincerely. Time has only revealed more of the qualities I admired in her all those years ago. As I would always say, and I quote from the scriptures, ‘many are the beautiful, virtuous, and wise women on the face of the earth, but you surpass them all!!! All of them!’ One of the greatest joys of this journey has been watching my childhood friend become the woman I now get to call my Queen. Today, when I look at her, I don't just see the woman standing beside me. I see years of friendship, years of prayers, years of shared memories, and countless moments that God was using to prepare us for this very season. She truly is my answered prayer. My greatest joy is not simply that I am getting married. It is that I am getting to marry her. The friend who became my confidante. The sister in Christ who became my companion. The woman whose wisdom strengthens me, whose laughter brightens my days and whose love makes me a better man. If I had the opportunity to live this life all over again, I would still choose this same journey. I would still choose the same friendship. I would still choose the same conversations, the same prayers, the same waiting, and, without hesitation, I would still choose Tolulope. She has been part of my story from the beginning, and by God's grace, she will remain the greatest earthly blessing in every chapter that is still to come.

As Olawale said, we practically grew up together. We shared the beautiful simplicity of childhood, navigated our teenage years side by side and found ourselves serving God together long before either of us imagined we would one day stand at the altar as husband and wife. To me, he was my friend, my prayer partner. We prayed together, served together, encouraged one another and celebrated each other's victories. He was simply one of those people I believed would always be part of my life, though never in the way our story eventually unfolded. One memory I will never forget is the night before he left Nigeria. He came to see me to say goodbye before moving abroad. Until that moment, I hadn't really processed what his departure meant. As long as he was somewhere in Nigeria, it always felt like he was just a phone call or a short drive away. But another continent? That felt different. After we said our goodbyes, I walked back into my room, closed the door and cried. I cried because my friend was leaving. I cried because someone who had been such a constant part of my life was suddenly going to be thousands of miles away. It wasn't romantic then, I simply knew I was going to miss someone who meant so much to me. Life, of course, went on. We kept in touch, although not as frequently as before. We each became busy with our own journeys, yet I never stopped praying for him. He was one of the many friends I faithfully lifted before God. Then came a day I will never forget. I was at home when my phone rang. It was Olawale. We chatted for a while before he suddenly became unusually serious. He began telling me about someone special, someone he deeply loved, someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. I was genuinely excited. In fact, I was thrilled! I remember smiling from ear to ear, thinking, Finally! My friend has found the love of his life. I couldn't wait to hear who the lucky lady was. Then I asked the question. "So... who is she?"

There was a brief pause.

And then he said my name. I honestly thought I had heard him wrongly. "Me?" "How?" "When did this happen?" Nothing could have prepared me for that moment. He went on to tell me that God had spoken to him months earlier and had made it clear that I was the woman he was meant to marry. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but laugh through my surprise because, as far as I was concerned, God hadn't mentioned anything to me! Little did I know that my Heavenly Father was keeping a beautiful surprise. Looking back now, I smile because if He had told me too early, I probably would have asked Him a thousand questions. Today, everything makes sense. People often assume we've been dating since forever because we've known each other for so many years. The truth is, our friendship lasted far longer than our courtship. We only began courting 2 years ago, yet every year of friendship became a foundation for the love we now share. Looking back, I can see that God was writing our story in ways neither of us fully understood. While Olawale was praying for clarity, I was simply praying for my friend. While he was hearing God's promise, I was completely unaware that my own love story had already begun. And now, here we are, best friends becoming husband and wife. I get to marry the boy I grew up with, the man I prayed with, the friend I cried over when he left and the love of my life. If that's not God's perfect timing, I don't know what is.
